Situation At the time, Mr. Masuda was working at the former Japanese National Railways. On August 6 he had taken the day off work because of a finger injury and was in the dormitory. He ate breakfast early, and had gone outside to use the toilet when he looked up to see a plane from a gap in the wall around the building. It was when he was going into his room that there was a flash of light and he was thrown by the blast.
